An Exploration of Properly Maintained Automotive Suspension Components

Hi there, my name is Hedrick Simmons. Welcome to my website about automotive suspension components. My first vehicle purchase resulted in a crash course about the importance of excellent suspension components. The vehicle was bouncy and unwieldly while driving along rough roadways. At first, I thought this was normal, but as I learned more, I discovered that there was a way to fix this annoying problem. I decided to upgrade my suspension with helpful components and repair the items that exhibited wear and tear or damage. With this approach, I was able to restore my suspension components and enjoy a smooth ride in my vehicle. My site will explore these matters and much more. Come back again soon.

Handicap Minivans: Factors To Consider

by Brandie Gordon

In your life, you might have adjusted to the limitations of your physical handicap and assumed that driving was not possible for you. However, with technological advancements, you could still be very able to drive a vehicle. If you operate a wheelchair every day, a minivan could be the best vehicle for you. Because you're new to making decisions about handicap vehicles, consider these factors:

Head Space

Your wheelchair was likely chosen because of its functionality and comfort. You probably didn't think it would serve as a driver's seat when you purchased it. Therefore, you've got to ensure that a minivan will give your chair sufficient space, particular around the head. If the chair has a high back that can't be shortened, have the chair inserted into minivans before you purchase them. The cabin roof shouldn't rest on your head or press upon it and you shouldn't have trouble moving in and out of the vehicle.

Hand Controls

Hand controls permit you to work many of the minivan functions. You may feel unhappy if you like a specific van but find the hand controls to be difficult to move or otherwise unworkable. Luckily, hand control systems can be switched out; you can get professional help in selecting a better system. Changing the system may mean additional costs, but if you really like a van, that's a real option.

Chair Ramp

You might think you'll need assistance getting into and out of the minivan. However, ramps can encourage you to move your wheelchair as needed. You can opt for a regular, manual ramp or one that uses battery or electric power. Manual ramps aren't that expensive, but require you to wind the crank that extends and pulls back the ramp itself. This could be challenging and somewhat irritating for a lot of people, but if your upper body strength isn't very good, it can be almost impossible.

Power ramps only need you to press the operation button to work. They're more costly, but essential if your lack of strength requires it. Also, it's easier on you if you make plenty of trips. Power ramps are especially beneficial if you need to get somewhere right away because there's an emergency.

The independence that comes with operating your own vehicle again is possible in your life. Just be sure to talk through your specific abilities with handicap minivan retailers and electronic mobility control experts so that the van is both comfortable and functional enough for you. Contact a company like Lone Star Handicap Vans for more information and assistance.
